BRIGHTON SCHOOLS

Brighton Schools formally announces their expansion in the Folsom community.

Brighton Schools, once known as Folsom and Natoma Station Learning Centers, opened its first school in Folsom in June of 1995.  With one established successful school already in Granite Bay, the addition of the Levy Road school seemed a logical move.  In November of 1998, the “school in a park”, a much anticipated project- a school based on the 10 acre Ernie Sheldon Youth Sports Complex, became a reality.  The Natoma Station school was built in conjunction with the City of Folsom , both entities sharing usage of the building and surrounding grounds.

This summer, in August of 2007,  Brighton Schools on Levy and Riley roads opened 5 additional classrooms atop the once vacant hill in front of their original building.  High demand for Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Prekindergarten programs moved CEO, Norm Frewin, and his partner, CFO, Greg Nichols into action on a new building.  “Putting these new classrooms on the ground makes sense.  It will allow us to meet the needs of the community in a timely manner, giving us the ability to offer programs immediately instead of having long waiting lists.  It also gives us the opportunity to grow our programs for the children- giving our families more options in terms of services and education.” commented Mr. Frewin.

Brighton Schools has become a familiar presence in Folsom and Granite Bay.  With a longstanding mission  for high quality early childhood programs and education, they have made a name for themselves through true commitment to their purpose “Excellence in Education for your Child, Peace of Mind for You.”   No doubt many residents in Folsom are accustomed to seeing the bright Brighton sun passing by on vans to pick up children from school, or perhaps  on the many, many campers all adorned in the same colored shirt,  at the pool, an army for summer fun.   Brighton Schools is a familiar face at Folsom’s events, having a great time at the Eggstravaganza or the Run with Nature.  “So much of what we do is family oriented and reaches beyond our immediate families to the community we serve.” says Leslie Wade, Director of Operations and 12 year veteran of Brighton Schools.  “We love what we do, we love our families and we love to participate in our community beyond the walls of our schools.” she continues.  “Family and community involvement are core values of Brighton.”

With the addition comes the excitement of new spaces to decorate, new staff to hire and train, and more families to add to the Brighton Family.  There is a lot of work to be done, but a great team in place to do it.  Jeanna Borges (also a 12 year Brighton gal) heads the team as the schools’ Director.  Mrs. Borges has seen and done it all with over 17 years in the business.  She has held virtually every teaching and administrative position with Brighton, and is confident in her new goals.  “I have such a great team, great staff and support.  We are so excited the construction is finally completed and that we are open for learning.  I am looking forward to meeting everyone who is interested in our programs.”  Joining Jeanna in the management of this school,  are her two Assistant Directors; Monica Ballard (4 years with Brighton ) and Heather Sprinkel (3 years with Brighton).

Brighton Schools aims to continue full speed ahead on it’s mission of quality care, strong academic exposure and quality programming for the Folsom and Granite Bay Communities.
